Socrates “Sograd” Boyajian

The Armenian Sacred Music Project is honored to present a limited archive of Dr. Boyajian’s digital works as recovered through personal and digital backups. Dr. Boyajian, Sograd to most, was an ardent sacred music composer, musicologist, conductor, and violinist who engraved, arranged, and published many liturgical works under the auspices of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of North America. His penchant passion and drive for universal and equitable access to educational works were found in his then website (www.sograd.com) and his numerous paper publications.

As archivists, it is important for us to pay tribute to his originating digital works which many accessed across the United States and display those items under his banner on our website. To preserve history, we must keep the names of those who have worked tirelessly alive.

May Dr. Boyajian’s memory remain alive in the hearts and memories of all those who have been blessed to know him during his time with the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church and Association of Armenian Church Choirs.
