Khoren Meikhanedjian

The Armenian community is blessed to have such a talented musician born in the 20th century who has served the Armenian Apostolic Church across the world. Maestro Khoren Meikhanedjian was born in Aleppo, Syria in 1937 and studied at seminary at Holy Etchmiadzin between 1956 and 1960. Meikhanedjian has served as a choral director for Holy Ethchmiadzin (Yerevan, Armenia), Saint Vartan Cathedral (Manhattan, N.Y. – USA), where he has trained and cultivated a new generation of musical students and singers. Under the direction of the late H.H. Vasken I, Meikhanedjian composed a variation of the Armenian Divine Liturgy which was officially approved by holy encyclical on October 20, 1984.
