Kinarik Altinyuzuk (1930-2020)

Kinarik was born January 15, 1930 and passed away peacefully in Toronto, Canada on May 21,2021. An avid lover of music, Kinarik was an ardent supporter and devoted Christian of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

The Armenian Sacred Music Project is honored to preserve her love for family, culture, and music through our newly established scholarship fund.

The Kinarik Altinyuzuk Scholarship Fund {Fall 2024 Disbursement} of the Armenian Sacred Music Project was established in memory of our founder’s late grandmother. This scholarship will provide music students the opportunity to further develop in their collegiate studies and be connected with a network of sacred music enthusiasts, educators, and professionals under the patronage of our nonprofit. We encourage all interested students and members of the public to visit our website for further information. This scholarship will ensure that our precious Armenian sacred music will be preserved and promote through collegiate studies.

Scholarship Academic Requirements:

  • Students must be enrolled in a four-year undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college/university;
  • Students must be majoring in a musical studies program with a current grade point average of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).

Scholarship Application Requirements:

  • Students will complete an application, provide unofficial transcripts, and one-page essay explaining how Armenian sacred music has affected their personal or collegiate musical studies.

The Board of Directors of the Armenian Sacred Music Project will notify the chosen scholarship recipient(s) of its decision. The scholarship award amount and payment date will be released after final board review. All scholarship recipients and award amounts will be made public on our website,
