Welcome to the latest installment of our Educational Video Series on Liturgical Music, brought to you by the Institute of Armenian Sacred Music Project, a division of the Armenian Sacred Music Project. This video is part of a broader collection dedicated to helping emerging learners engage with and understand the rich tradition of Armenian liturgical music.

These instructional videos are based on the compositions of Makar Yekmalian. However, our educators have personally modified them to cater to emerging students. Additionally, these videos are continually being updated with community feedback to ensure they remain a relevant and effective learning tool.

In these lessons, educators have purposefully adapted the instruction to assist learners of varying levels with different cadences, tempos, and musical intricacies commonly found in Armenian sacred hymns. Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, this video will guide you through key elements to enhance your understanding and performance of the piece. During the liturgy, the priest and choir director will set the proper cadence.
